As a high school athlete it is important to market yourself to scouts/recruiters if you want to play at the next level.  As an athlete in high school I never had a DVD or highlight tape to showcase my abilities which reduced my potential for a scholarship as well as the opportunity to play at a higher caliber.  To increase all opportunities for growth and development current athletes must have a way to showcase their skills to recruiters nationally and internationally.  As a result of that need I developed a “virtual resume” which is a full media package for athletes currently looking to market themselves.

A media package includes videos, photography, and print graphics as well as a personalized webpage that showcases the content of that athlete’s media package.  A virtual resume is important because once a DVD or film is created and on the internet it can be viewed and analyzed by a scout/recruiter at any point, day or night.  This allows the athlete to be exposed to many universities in comparison to one or two that might have come to see him/her play.

It is often thought that the value of a “virtual resume” is equal to the price that an athlete has paid for the DVD.  In actuality a virtual resume is equal in value to the cost of that athlete’s university tuition.  This can range from $90,000 to $125,000 depending on the school and the length of the education.  Bottom line:  A picture speaks louder than words and a virtual resume is your tool to getting your foot in the door.
